Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. Her initial roles on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors in stage films and television. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. She was in two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and born in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
